Co-Co the Caravan

I love this little poem, Co-Co the Caravan. It comes from this vintage book:

The Co-Co the Caravan poem reminds me of my little trailer, Betty. I have two lamps in my trailer and I always turn one on early in the evening. That way when I look out from the cottage "Betty" looks warm, cozy, and inviting. Like the poem says, "A warm friendly welcome". Oh, and did you notice the rabbits in the picture? Well, for some reason we have several rabbits around here this summer. I have seen three, but lately it's just been two that come out to nibble. Not at night like in this illustration but more in the morning and early evening. Too cute!

  1. I love the little vintage book and poem. I bought a good solar light, the kind with a stake on it for walkways, and have it in my trailer so I can see inside my little vintage trailer. Solar gets in the window and it works as well as a light can in Ohio where we can go days in the winter with no sun.

  2. Good idea! I never thought about using a solar light inside my trailer. I have a couple outside to show me where the step is, but one inside would be great too! We have that lack of sunshine problem in NS from time to tome as well. Lately we have been having lots of thunder and threatening skies here at the cottage.

    1. Hi Laurel. Thanks for checking out my little blog and becoming a follower too :). Hopefully I can get back to posting more regularly as summer comes to a close. Always seems like there is a project going on here at the cottage.
      Happy travels,
      Beth

  4. Hello Beth, I found you via Angel in the Garden blog. I have trailer/caravan envy and so of course just had to visit you. Your trailer is so very pretty and homeley. I love childrens books - my favourite are by Beshlie (Romany Wood etc) I hadn't seen co-co the caravan before, it's very sweet. Betty

  5. Hello Betty. So glad you stopped by for a visit. Having a vintage trailer is a lot of fun! I was out there today painting the outside stripes a different colour. It also gives me a good reason to visit the thrift shops to look for vintage linens and trinkets. Do drop in again for a little visit. When I get my painting done I will be posting "the big reveal" as they say.
    Cheers,
    Beth
