This vintage photo reminds me of my family. That would be me digging in the cooler, while my older brother figures out how something works, and my Aunt Gwen pours our drinks. Did you have a little dress like this too? My mom used to make most of my clothes and I can remember her making a little blue and white one in this style.
Just something to ponder: When were Happy Meals introduced?

Dear Beth,
ReplyDeleteThat is the cutest picture!!! I long for those days before McDonald's Happy Meals... when people would have picnics and stop by road side parks for a lunch rather than going through a drive-thru.
Love your Blog... you are doing a great job!!
Happy Trailers,
Nancy
Hi Nancy!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right, people don't seem to use those parks anymore. It's all rush, rush, rush!
Thanks for your wonderful comment, it really made my day!
Happy trails,
Beth
I, too, love your blog Beth! We actually used to fry chicken with all the fixin's, load it all up in a picnic basket (sorta like the one in your pic) and eat it a a roadside park. (Do they even have those anymore ... I guess they're called rest areas) ! Nice to meet ya!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the compliment AND for becoming a follower. I checked your blogs and see that you are a photographer...that scares me! All my pics are either taken with my iPad or my old Olympus, LOL. Come visit NS, we still have a few picnic parks!
ReplyDeleteHappy trails,
Beth
Hi Beth!
ReplyDeleteLove that picture! I just found a sweet vintage basket complete with dishes and plastic ware. I'm ready to picnic...if it will ever stop raining!! I enjoy your blog. Those pillows are lovely, by the way!
Hello!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. It looks like we started blogging around the same time. Glad you found some nice picnic-ware. I just bought a thermos last Saturday and I plan to turn it into a little lamp. If it ever warms up I might get Betty all glamped up :) I am so looking forward to summer!
